Coaching Courses

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, in conjunction with the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board have always made it a priority to stage quality coaching courses for youngsters all year round, to encourage participation from an early age and promote the benefits of local club cricket. All our coaches hold an England and Wales Cricket Board qualification to a minimum level UKCC2 and an up to date Enhanced CRB check. Junior Outlaw members receive 10% discount of holiday group coaching, unfortunately this does not extend to Private Individual coaching or the Holiday 1:1 coaching.

Below you will find details of all the schemes taking place in 2011.

Friday Night (Oct – Dec) / Saturday Morning Coaching (Jan – Apr)

One hour coaching sessions, running over a period of 6 to 8 weeks. These sessions are split into specific age groups working on the essentials of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) and culminate with Cricket related games aimed at those youngsters aged between 5 and 7 year old and 8 - 10 Year olds. For the 11 – 13 year olds the programme includes a mixture of net sessions and skill related training, aimed at developing those currently playing hardball Cricket.

N.B Under the guidance of Child protection and health and Safety regulations. U11s will not be able to book onto the hardball session.

Holiday Coaching:
February & October Half Term and Easter Holiday Coaching

1:1 Holiday coaching:

During school holidays our programme includes 1:1 coaching, these are 1 hour sessions focusing on specific Cricket skills. Please note: Junior Outlaw discount is no longer available for 1:1 coaching sessions.

Trent Bridge Proficiency Test Award Scheme:
The Trent Bridge Proficiency Test Award Scheme runs during the summer holidays at Notts Sports Ground, Lady Bay and Ellerslie Cricket Club.
The scheme is in 5 stages from preliminary to platinum, We encourage all young people to achieve the full range of awards. These are 4 day courses running for 5 hours each day

Please ensure that you are booked on to the correct course as no refunds will be issued if the test award is not passed, it is not the aim of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club to have people failing these awards but criteria and standards must met.

Preliminary Award - Stage 1 – Cost £25 / £22 (Junior Outlaws)
Particularly ideal for those just starting out in cricket, this is an introductory course and includes: FUNdamental movement training, basic Cricket related skills and games with a soft ball. (Suitable for 5 - 7 Year olds) There is no assessment / test for this course.

Bronze Award - Stage 2 – Cost £50 / £45 (Junior Outlaws)
A ‘starter’ course, introducing the basics of the game in batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping. For all those wishing to have a good grounding in the basics. (suitable for 8 - 11 year olds)

Silver Award - Stage 3 – Cost £50 / £45 (Junior Outlaws)
For Bronze Award holders. This award increases the breadth of coaching and includes a wider range of more advanced batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping skills. This course is ideal preparation for moving into a Club Youth section. (suitable for 8 - 11 year olds)

Gold Award - Stage 4 – Cost £50 / £45 (Junior Outlaws)
Designed for Silver Award holders. This award further develops the range of cricket skills and raising the quality of skills performed. (suitable for 8 - 11 year olds)

Platinum Award - Stage 5 – Cost £50 / £45 (Junior Outlaws)
Designed for Gold Award holders, it aims to enhance even further the skills and attributes required to be an exceptional club cricketer. This award is for 11+ Year olds due to the skill set.

PRIVATE Individual Coaching
If you would like to arrange a individual coaching session, please contact Chloe Gibson for more information. Cost are likely to be approximately £40 per hour (£15 Single Lane hire and £25 for the hire of the Cricket Coach)
