Scorecard

Akhil Patel was the only player to reach double figures as Notts Outlaws stumbled to their worst ever one day total to finish the season with a disappointing defeat to Gloucestershire.

Notts scored 66 runs in an innings against Yorkshire in 1969 but eclipsed that with a total of 57 all out which Gloucestershire reached within eight overs.

Patel’s 41 was the highlight of an error-strewn innings which yielded ducks for Ali Brown, Alex Hales, Chris Read, Mark Ealham, Ben McGuire and Andrew Carter.

Ealham conceded the winning runs off the final delivery of his career but was applauded off the field having been presented with a hamper in recognition of his service to the club.

Samit Patel had Ireland Captain William Porterfield lbw in the third over to reduce Gloucestershire to 10-1 but an unbroken stand between Kadeer Ali (30) and Hamish Marshall (19) steered the visitors home.

Notts finish their NatWest Pro40 campaign winless in ninth position having lost six of their eight matches.
