After a long association with the club stretching as far back as 1994, Wayne Noon is now Nottinghamshire’s assistant coach having been a former player and second team coach.
His career spanned over 15 years in which he played 92 first class matches, 121 List A matches and 4 t20 matches for Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. He was first-choice wicket keeper at the county from 1994-1998 before being overtaken by the young and upcoming Chris Read.
However, one of his greatest moments came when deputising for Read when he was away of international duty. He took a club record seven catches against Kent to surpass Bruce French, who took six catches on four separate occasions.
Over the course of his career his record saw him score over 3,000 runs and take over 250 catches behind the stumps. He received his Notts cap in 1995 and had a benefit season at the club in 2003.
