Nottinghamshire First Class Debut – 19 Apr 2012 v Somerset (h)

2013 was a watershed season for left-arm seamer Harry Gurney, who ended the summer as Nottinghamshire’s leading wicket taker.

Quickly becoming known for taking important wickets at the top of the order, and an increasing talent at the death, Gurney claimed 74 scalps across all competitions for his county.

Of those, his hat-trick against Sussex in June and the early wicket of Marcus Trescothick to set the tone for Notts Outlaws’ victorious Yorkshire Bank 40 semi-final stand tallest in the memory.

Arriving from neighbours Leicestershire for the 2012 season with a glowing reputation with the white ball, Gurney has developed further to be an integral part of Nottinghamshire’s plans in all formats.

His brilliant form continued in 2014, taking 62 wickets across all formats including a join top 41 in the County Championship.

The flurry of wickets since his change to Nottinghamshire has seen him earn international honours, including ten One Day Internationals and two T20Is taking 14 wickets in the process.

With his last international being against Sri Lanka in the winter, Gurney will be hoping his 2015 season will launch him back into international recognition across all forms.
