Notts look to give Bears a scare

Frizzell County Championship
July 20-23: Warwickshire v Notts

The New Zealand captain is desperate to leave us with a win and maintain the pressure on leaders Kent.

He said: ?I?m disappointed to be going at such a crucial time but will be happier if I leave having picked up 20 points or more from the game.

?This will be a big test but we?ve been playing impressive four-day cricket all season and I?m confident that can be maintained in the next six weeks. I?ll be watching from afar with a keen interest.?

Warwickshire are missing England pair Ian Bell and Ashley Giles, who are lining up for the first Ashes Test at Lord?s, while South African pace bowler Makhaya Ntini may not be available.

Injury news:
Ryan Sidebottom passed a fitness test on his side strain and is included in the squad to travel to Edgbaston.

Director of Cricket Mick Newell faces a straight choice between Sidebottom and youngster Mark Footitt, who impressed in his first-class debut against Glamorgan.

Squad:
Bicknell, Gallian, Warren, Fleming (cap), Hussey, Read (wkt), Ealham, Swann, Smith, Harris, Footitt, Sidebottom.
