Friends are enemies for Khan

July 26-29: Notts v Surrey
Start time: 11am
Tickets cost ?10 for adults and ?5 for concessions.

Khan will face Pakistan team-mates Azhar Mahmood and Mohammad Akram in a key Championship match and hopes he can play his part to help us to victory.

He said: ?Surrey are a good team and to play against Azhar Mahmood, my best friend in cricket, as well as Mohammad Akram, makes things particularly interesting.

?I?m here to do my best and help the team maintain their challenge for the title. The last 18 months have been very good for me at international level and I think playing county cricket will help me continue to improve.

?Everybody knows what an excellent player and captain Stephen Fleming is. I?ve got big shoes to fill but I?ll do everything I can to make sure that when he returns Notts are still well placed in the competition.?

The 27-year-old Pakistan vice-captain will play in five Championship matches and three totesport League fixtures before Fleming returns to Nottingham on September 9.

Jason Gallian takes over as captain for the five Championship matches during Fleming?s absence.

Chris Read has not recovered from his ankle injury and David Alleyne steps up from the Second XI for his first Championship appearance of the season.

Squad:
Bicknell, Gallian (cap), Warren, Khan, Hussey, Alleyne (wkt), Ealham, Swann, Sidebottom, Smith, Harris.
