Footitt goes through the gears

The 19-year-old took five wickets in the match, including four in the second innings, as we demolished bottom-of-the-table Glamorgan inside three days.
He said: ?The game went better than I could have hoped on a personal level and I really hope I can build on it for the rest of the summer.
?I?ve got to go back to the Second XI now but I hope I?ve done enough to get some more chances later in the season.
?After my performance for the Outlaws in the Twenty20 Cup I was nervous but it was good to get into action so quickly on day one and that helped me settle down.
?There were a few wild deliveries but I got a lot of support from the team all the way through. It was great to bowl at Test stars like Sourav Ganguly and to have him as the first wicket of my career is fantastic.
?I?m going to get him to sign the ball and stick it on my mantelpiece. In the second innings I bowled much better and it was terrific to help the side get the win.?
After dismissing the visitors cheaply on day one, we forced ourselves into a commanding position with half-centuries from Darren Bicknell, Stephen Fleming and David Hussey.
But a middle order collapse left us looking at a slim lead until Chris Read combined with Footitt to add 101 for the last wicket.
Read struck his first hundred of the season and Footitt charged through a disheartened Glamorgan line-up in the second innings, leaving openers Bicknell and Jason Gallian with a simple target to reach.
