The 27-year-old will arrive at Trent Bridge in time for theChampionship match with Surrey at home on July 26 and Director ofCricket Mick Newell expects the Test star to be a valuable addition tothe squad.

Said Newell: ?The contract is signed and sealed and I think Younis willprove to be an excellent replacement for Stephen. Nine hundreds in 37Tests is not to be sniffed at.

?His Test record in the past 12 months has been terrific and ChrisCairns recommended him to me when it became clear Stephen was going tobe away. He?s also got the right kind of character to fit in with thedressing room atmosphere, which was also important.?

Khan will play in five Championship matches and three totesport Leaguegames. His last appearance will be against Gloucestershire in theChampionship at Trent Bridge.
