Day two of Championship match a washout

Saturday June 16, 9.30am

The second day of the LV County Championship match between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire has been abandoned due to heavy rain.

Groundstaff had worked manfully to clear standing water from the outfield on day one only for thunderstorms and torrential rain leaving Trent Bridge resembling a lake.

And with the outfield still soaked this morning and more rain forecast, there was no prospect of play.

The teams will return on Sunday to attempt to start the match, with Notts having won the toss and chosen to bowl.
