Shafayat On Standby To Deputise For Read

Notts Captain Chris Read faces a late fitness test before the Notts Outlaws side is confirmed for Sunday’s NatWest Pro40 clash with Somerset.

Read dislocated his thumb in the LV County Championship fixture between the sides and Bilal Shafayat is on standby to deputise behind the stumps.

Will Jefferson will be added to the side if Read doesn’t feature. The Notts batsmen could open alongside Graeme Swann with Shafayat and Matt Wood coming in at six and seven.

Charlie Shreck replaces Darren Pattinson in a seam attack also featuring Andre Adams and Paul Franks.

Notts Outlaws squad to face Somerset Sabres: Will Jefferson, Graeme Swann, Mark Wagh, Adam Voges, Samit Patel, Bilal Shafayat (Chris Read), Matt Wood, Mark Ealham, Andre Adams, Paul Franks, Charlie Shreck
