Notts Vs Lancs (Day Two) Round-Up
Lancashire had reached a second innings total of 233, helped in no small part by a useful 29 from Gary Keedy, the night watchman who helped the visitors to a solid start after their first innings collapse.
Charlie Shreck was the pick of the Notts bowlers, taking 5-40, while wicket keeper Chris Read took six catches.
Pitch inspector Tony Pigott watched most of the day’s play and confirmed that he was satisfied that there were no problems with the quality of the pitch which had seen 20 wickets fall on day one.
Paul Franks had Keedy caught behind to kick-start the Notts attack and the recalled seamer struck again to bowl out Paul Horton, who had been dropped by Read off Darren Pattinson, for 37.
Read though was unaffected and caught Chilton, Loye and Law off Shreck, du Plessis off Ealham and Cork off Pattinson to maintain the momentum.
Notts opener Will Jefferson was caught by Horton off Sajid Mahmood for 0 before Paul Franks entered the fray, scoring four from four balls to take Notts into day three in a commanding position.
