Chris Read’s benefit year continues with a meeting of county stars past and present when a Nottinghamshire XI take on a Nottinghamshire Premier League XI in a Twenty20 match.
The match, which takes place at Caythorpe Cricket Club on Wednesday June 17, will see the former England wicketkeeper captain a Notts team containing the likes of Samit Patel, Paul Franks, Darren Bicknell, Stephen Randall, Noel Gie and Jamie Hart against the best club cricketers in the county.
And the entertainment continues after the game as Grahame Lloyd, author of “Six of the Best: Cricket’s Most Famous Over” will tell the tale of Gary Sobers hitting six sixes with help from team-mates and witnesses, including former Notts President Brian Bolus.
Spectators are very welcome to come and enjoy the action, with the match getting underway at 4.30pm.
