Notts Premier League
Notts Academy 276-4  (17pts ) drew with Radcliffe-on-Trent (7pts)

Notts Academy took advantage of a good batting track to amass a high total against Radcliffe who are struggling to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Openers Hassan Azad and Akhil Patel compiled a first wicket stand of 182 from 35 overs to put the Academy in the ascendency.

Patel was the first to go beaten by the spin of Mark Taylor to be stumped by Dan Mason for 81 and then eighteen runs later Azad fell the same way to Mitchell Gowland for 86.

The innings needed some impetus for the last nine overs and Sam Wood provided this with 38 from just 21 balls with 24 coming from boundaries. Sam Kelsall placed the ball to keep the scoreboard ticking & ended undefeated on 41.

The visitors had to resort to spin as the quicker bowlers were unable to make headway on a low flat wicket.

Jake Ball had an early success having Durandt mistime a drive to Shepherd but Mitchell Gowland and Richard Brooks added 87 for the second wicket before Adam Shepherd had Gowland leg before for 41.

Without any further addition to the score Brooks 43 was run out by Shepherd and when the same player bowled Luke Sutton for no score and Bratt was bowled by Sam Wood at 127, victory looked a possibility for the Academy.

However Dan Mason battled well against the spin attack & although Wood had a further victim & Adam Tillcock claimed two wickets, a final breakthrough seemed possible.

Dan Mason undefeated on 43 and Simon Ward 5 held out for the final eight overs and the home side had to be content with a winning draw.
