Spin bowler Graeme White will return to the Notts Outlaws team to face Northants Steelbacks at Trent Bridge this evening in place of Ryan Sidebottom (play starts 6pm).

First-choice wicket keeper Chris Read is a major doubt with a calf strain with Bilal Shafayat likely to continue behind the stumps as Notts look to defend their unbeaten home record in the Friends Provident t20.

David Hussey will captain the side with Dirk Nannes leading the pace attack. In form batsmen Alex Hales, who has already hit 35 fours in the competition this season, Ali Brown, Matt Wood and Samit Patel complete the top five alongside Hussey who has struck 12 sixes during the campaign.

“Being without Ryan and Stuart will put a bit more focus on Dirk and David as our overseas players and I wouldn’t swap them for anyone else in the competition,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

“Huss has demonstrated strong leadership and he is a great personality to have in the dressing room. Alex, Ali and Samit have an important job to do at the top of the order and they are in excellent form at the moment.”

Newell has highlighted Northants trio Rob White, Nicky Boje and Chaminda Vaas as ones to watch as Notts go in search of a seventh win in eight matches.
