Derbyshire Second XI (289-4) beat Nottinghamshire Second XI (231) by 58 runs
 
Notts visited Alvaston & Boulton on Monday to play in a forty over game trialing a new format of four innings of twenty overs using pink balls.
 
Notts asked the home side to bat first and at the end of the first twenty overs Derby were 114-2. After a ten minute break, Notts batted for 20 overs at the end of which they were narrowly behind on 106-1 Sam wood out for 20 Akhil Patel 63 not out .

Derby resumed their innings and went on the attack led by Lee Goddard who scored 101 not out as they reached 289-4 after 40 overs.
 
Notts were quickly in trouble on resuming their innings when Patel was out without adding to his score. Scott Elstone made 30 and newcomer George Bacon struck lustily at the end for 25 not out as Notts were dismissed for 231 losing by 58 runs.
