Notts Academy had to settle for a winning draw against Kimberley when the last man Richard Adams survived the last ball from Scott Elstone to deny them what would have been a well earned win.

Put in to bat, Notts made a solid start Sam Wood and Akhil Patel adding 41 before Wood (13) was given out caught at mid-off.

Swann (16) was out on the Australian devils score at 87. Akhil Patel reached his 50 from 63 balls but was then bowled by Jarred Sewell for 60.

Sam Kelsall then played a stylish innings, adding 74 for the 4th wicket with skipper Scott Elstone before the latter was dismissed for 39 on 177.

Ben McGuire was quickly dismissed for 7 but Kelsall found Hassan Azad a willing partner as they gathered quick singles. Kelsall reached his half century from 70 balls but, nine balls later, he was out caught for 66. The innings closed on 253-7 with Azab not out on 31.

Dan Cumming struck quickly as Kimberley started their reply taking two early wickets to leave them on 10-2.

Jarred Sewell and Sam Ogrizovic (18) added 70 for the third wicket but after the latter had driven Brett Hutton to Ollie Swann at cover, Sewell (54) was trapped in front by Akhil Pateland Kimberley were 114-6.

Further wickets fell to Elstone and Ball as Bacon (26) and  Matt Wright (12) tried to save the game.

Sam Wood snatched the 8th wicket with the first ball of his only over and then Elstone had Blatherwick caught off the penultimate ball.
