Trent Bridge will host three major matches in 2012 having successfully bid to stage a Twenty20 international between England and West Indies.

West Indies are already scheduled to face England in an npower Test at Trent Bridge in 2012 with South Africa providing England’s opposition for a One Day International.

“Competing with other venues for the right to stage international matches is very challenging and we’re pleased with the programme we have secured for 2012,” said Nottinghamshire Chief Executive Derek Brewer.

“In an Olympic year, we felt that it would be advantageous to bid for the right to host an additional fixture and staging three England fixtures at Trent Bridge in 2012 will put us at the forefront of the sporting calendar.

“We thoroughly enjoyed hosting the West Indian team during ICC World Twenty20 and I hope that cricket supporters in the region will see a Twenty20 International match against England at Trent Bridge as a very exciting prospect.”

Tickets for England’s npower Test against India and NatWest Series ODI against Sri Lanka at Trent Bridge in 2011 are now on general sale.

Two Twenty20 internationals between England and Australia have already been allocated to Trent Bridge for 2013 and three Ashes Tests remain unallocated.
