Second Eleven Centuries

Match Report | 14th April 2012

Centuries from Karl Turner, Tom Rowe and Scott Elstone punctuated an innings victory for Nottinghamshire’s Second Eleven in their pre-season friendly against Essex in Southend.

Essex were comprehensively beaten having been put into bat on day and registering 190 as George Bacon claimed 5-65.

An opening partnership of 218 underlined the continuing emergence of Tom Rowe and the ambition Karl Turner to earn a first team spot with Hassan Azad (1) the only member of the top four not to reach three figures.

Nottinghamshire declared with 459-8 on the board before removing Essex for 205 to secure victory by an innings and 64 runs.

Harry Gurney returned match figures of 4-69, Jake Ball 4-82 and Graeme White 3-24 in preparation for the start of competitive action.
