Michael Lumb claimed the man of the match award as his Sydney Sixers triumphed in the Champions League Twenty20 Final.

Lumb also secured the Golden Bat handed to the tournament's leading run-scorer as knock of 82 not out off 42 balls saw him take home a tournament average of 56.50 and a share of his side's £1.55million prize.

Brad Haddin and Lumb shared an unbeaten opening partnership to cruise to victory over Highveld Lions with 45 balls to spare.

“It’s gone nicely, I cannot complaint,” said Lumb.

“We got written off in the beginning of the Big Bash last year and no one gave us a chance of winning it. But we went ahead and won it. That gave us a lot of confidence,” he said.

“We have a strong squad and have most bases covered. We knew that if the guys do their job on the day, we’ll be somewhere near the winning line.”
