Notts Outlaws captain James Taylor insists that securing a home quarter-final remains a primary objective despite a run of three consecutive knock-out defeats at Trent Bridge.

The Outlaws have maintained exceptional form and will feature in a last-eight match at Trent Bridge if they win their three remaining group matches.

While Sunday’s visitors Leicestershire are out of contention, Taylor knows that they would relish the opportunity to cause disruption to his side's plans for progression.

“The game at Grace Road was a treat for neutrals and it’s almost unheard of to see 420 runs in a T20 match,” said Taylor.

“It showed the batting power that both teams have and they will be a dangerous side especially as they’ll be prepared to take risks with nothing to lose.

“The top of the group is very tight and we’re determined to finish in the top two.”

Only Riki Wessels (314) has scored more NatWest Blast T20 runs for the Outlaws than Taylor (221) this season and the former Leicestershire man believes that the Club’s outstanding form in the LV= County Championship has helped to forge a winning mentality.

“Our form has been exceptional for some time now and we’re showing great consistency with the bat and ball in two formats,” said Taylor.

“Conditions were very different against Lancashire in Liverpool but we came out on top in a low-scoring game. We’re finding ways to win, even if it means relying on the tail for runs alongside a great contribution from Chris Read as was the case this week.”

Tickets for Sunday’s game are on general sale from our online box office, the ticket hotline (0844 8118711) and the Trent Bridge ticket office.
