Nottinghamshire batsman Michael Lumb has been ruled out for up to four weeks with an arm injury.

While no operation is needed, Lumb has been prescribed four weeks of rest and is likely to miss six NatWest T20 Blast matches and three games in the LV= County Championship.

"Michael needs a period of rest which is a blow at this stage of the season given his record in all formats," said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

"It's very important that we allow him time to recover and get him back into the side knowing that Phil Jaques will only be around for three more weeks."

Jaques will take Lumb's place in the Outlaws team to face Leicestershire Foxes this evening and Derbyshire Falcons on Friday.

Steven Mullaney appears to be the obvious candidate to step into the LV= County Championship team.
