Academy captain Paul Franks is looking for an important victory in their game against Caythorpe tomorrow at Notts Sports Club.

After a run of bad luck in the first four fixtures Franks is hoping tomorrow will bring with it an upturn in fortunes.

With the Academy’s next five fixtures all against sides that are close by in the table, it is an important time for the side to secure their first win.

“It definitely isn’t panic stations at the moment but it is important to get the first win of the season sooner rather than later,’ Franks said.

“What I am looking for is an improved performance from last week as unfortunately we didn’t put one in last week.”

Saturday’s opponents Caythorpe are currently sitting mid table and Franks is hoping the youth of his side will be an advantage.

“Caythorpe are a very experienced side and have a number of players that have played at this level for a long time.

“Comparatively our side are a very youthful one but that doesn’t mean we aren’t capable of putting in a performance and getting a victory.

“We have created two winning chances so far this season but didn’t manage to finish them off because of rain and other reasons.

“That first win is imperative to ensuring confidence stays with the side and the younger players in the side don’t become anxious.”

The weekend isn’t done there either for the Academy as Bank Holiday Monday brings with it a further fixture away against Kimberley.
