India have announced an 18-man squad for their upcoming test series in England, which begins at Trent Bridge on 9 July.

The squad includes the recall of opening batsman Gautam Gambhir, who has not played Test cricket in 18 months, while experienced fast bowler Zaheer Khan misses out, a recent hamstring problem the latest in a series of injury concerns. 

Three players yet to play at Test level have been named, seamers Pankaj Singh and Ishwar Pandey, and all rounder Stuart Binny all included. 

Only three members of the squad have played a Test series in England, the aforementioned Gambhir, Ishant Sharma and their evergreen captain MS Dhoni.
