Riki Wessels was named Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Player of the Year at Tuesday's Gala Awards Dinner at Trent Bridge.

Wessels' form with the bat in all competitions enabled him to emerge victorious in a competitive category and he accepted his award from Gareth Singleton of Team Sponsors BDO.

Jake Libby's debut hundred in the LV= County Championship allied to his prolific form in the Second Eleven helped him to win Young Player of the Year while Luke Wood was named Most Improved Academy Player.

Mark Ramprakash addressed 220 guests at the event after joining Director of Cricket Mick Newell and MC Colin Hazelden on the top table.
