Winners in 2012, and with four successive top four finishes to their name, Warwickshire have been a model of consistency in recent LV= County Championship seasons.

New Zealand off-spinner Jeetan Patel, a reigning Wisden Cricketer of the Year, has been instrumental to the Bears' success in recent times, having first played for the county back in 2009.

The last three campaigns have seen the 59 time Kiwi international buck the nationwide trend for overseas cricketers by sustaining availability for the entirety of the county season.

The men from the second city have reaped the rewards with Patel taking 185 first-class wickets for the club, at an average of 27.12, as well as a further 130 in the white ball formats of the game.

The 34-year-old is back for another full season in 2015 and will continue to provide the perfect slow bowling foil for a seam attack likely to include the international duo of Chris Woakes and Boyd Rankin, and Lancashire born paceman Keith Barker who has achieved seasonal tallies of 56, 46 and 51 during his previous three first-class seasons.

With the bat, former captain Jim Troughton has retired and the England duo of Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott could well see their domestic participation significantly limited by international commitments.

Varun Chopra, Ian Westwood and Will Porerfield are, however, experienced campaigners at the top of the order, former England wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose is likely to bat in the upper echelons and Hong Kong born rookie Sam Hain is looking to build on his dream start in first-class cricket during the latter stages of the 2014 campaign.

Hain, 19, notched four centuries in 12 matches during the latter part of the 2015 campaign and averaged 51.43. His 208 against Northamptonshire made Hain the youngest ever double-centurion in county championship cricket.

Elsewhere in the upper order, 2015 is an important season for Laurie Evans after his breakthrough 2013, which included three centuries and an average of 50, was followed by 225 runs, in eight appearances, at an average of 17.3 last time around.

Meanwhile Rikki Clarke, now 33 and another former England international, has sustained an average in excess of 35 with the bat, and below 35 with the ball, over a career spanning some 177 red ball appearances.

Nottinghamshire will face Warwickshire twice in the final four LV= County Championship matches of the season in 2015; at Trent Brige starting Friday 21 August and at Edgbaston starting Monday 14 September.
