Nottinghamshire Assistant Manager Wayne Noon has praised the application and desire of all-rounder Steven Mullaney, after starring in ‘Outlaws Origins: Steven Mullaney’, the teaser for the Club’s 2015 NatWest T20 Blast promotional video.

Mullaney, taken out of his comfort zone and in front of the camera, excelled on screen.

“I think he’s always had it,” said Noon.

“He likes to be the centre of attention, and performing like this is right up his street.

“It’s a big compliment to any Notts player to be picked to be in the main video, let alone star in a side-film.

“The promos get lots of attention from our fans, as you’d expect, but also people outside the county.

“We’re seen as the Club who have raised the bar when it comes to creating a spectacle for T20 matches, and it’s up to everyone to keep raising it.”

The Outlaws Origins video depicts Mullaney displaying his ‘superpowers’ aged five, before reliving some of the action from 2014’s Cricket Has Landed short film.

The Lancashire-born all-rounder has become a fans favourite for Nottinghamshire, adapting to play at the top of the order in four day cricket, while his middle-order hitting and medium pacers have been the catalyst for Notts Outlaws victories in the shorter formats.

“He’s finally moved down and properly bought into the Nottinghamshire family now,” said Noon.

“Everyone loves Mull, and every team needs a player like him.

“He offers us something different, and players of his ilk are really important when it comes to winning games.”

With the premiere of Nottinghamshire’s 2015 promo – Cricket Has Landed 2 – a week away, Notts Outlaws hope to pack 10,000 into Trent Bridge for the arrival of reigning champions Birmingham Bears on Friday 15 May.
