Trent Bridge will play host to an outdoor film festival on Sunday 21 June.

The event, in partnership with Nottingham’s Broadway Cinema, will see family-favourite Paddington screened in the afternoon, before an evening showing of the classic musical Grease.

Fans and cinema-goers are invited to sit on the Trent Bridge outfield, bring a picnic and enjoy the films, alongside a range of catering and hospitality options around the ground.

Those who have purchased tickets for the showing of Grease will also be treated to a free screening of the Errol Flynn classic ‘Adventures of Robin Hood’.

The event will make use of the 160 square metre screen installed at Trent Bridge in 2013 – the largest outdoor screen in Europe – and will be a development of last year’s screening of La Boheme from the Royal Opera House, which was attended by in excess of 3,000 people.

Tickets for the showing of Paddington are priced at £8 for adults and £4 for under 16s, with family tickets (2+2) available for £20, while tickets for Grease are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for under 16s and £25 for family tickets.

Ticket holders will be invited to bring picnics with fair weather access to the outfield to be granted throughout the performance.

“We’re always looking to explore new events that are in keeping with the values of Trent Bridge the film festival in partnership with the Broadway Cinema fit the bill perfectly,” said Justin Tose, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club’s Commercial Director.

“Following on from the success of last year’s event in partnership with the Royal Opera House, we were keen to make the most of the excellent facilities in the ground again this summer.

“We’re hoping that we can continue to attract a new audience to Trent Bridge,  and Paddington and Grease should offer broad appeal.”
