Applications are now being accepted for 20 apprentices who will work in sports leadership and coaching across six of Nottingham’s premier sporting venues.

Successful applicants will be able to count Trent Bridge - along with the City Ground, Meadow Lane, the National Ice Centre and Lady Bay - among their places of work during the 12 month programme.

The salaried Coach Core Apprenticeships run from January to December 2016 and will qualify successful applicants to NVQ Level Two standard, the equivalent of five GCSEs at grades A-C.

The array of opportunities will include delivering multi-sport coaching that helps change the lives of disadvantaged young people from the local area, ensuring great job satisfaction, together with the all important academic qualification and increased future employability.

“The Coach Core Apprenticeship Programme is delivered in partnership with the Royal Foundation, which is the charity of Prince’s William and Harry and the Duchess of Cambridge, all of whom offer direct support to the initiative,” said Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Head of Community Sport, Tracey Francis.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for young adults aged 16 plus to start their coaching and leadership journeys whilst working within the most iconic professional sports facilities in the county.”
