Jake Ball and Alex Hales have been named in the England squads for the One-Day International and T20 legs of the India tour, starting on 15 January.

Ball, who has been a part of each England squad across red and white ball cricket over the winter tours so far, will get the chance to add to his impressive ODI debut assignment in Bangladesh in October.

Hales, meanwhile, returns to the national setup for the first time since the Pakistan series of August and September, when he smashed 171 at Trent Bridge, the highest score by an Englishman in ODI cricket.

Elsewhere, Eoin Morgan returns as captain having also missed the Bangladesh tour and Joe Root is also back in the squad having been rested in the previous series.

Kent batsman Sam Billings retains his place in the squad whilst Liam Dawson, called up for the remainder of the Test series due to an injury to Zafar Ansari, will look to add to his solitary ODI cap.

England will play 50-over matches in Pune, Cuttack and Kolkata as well as three T20 Internationals in the New Year before continuing their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy with a white ball tour of the West Indies.
