Tom Moores, the 19-year-old wicketkeeper/batsman, completed his week to remember with a second innings century as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI took control against Durham at Lady Bay.

The England age group international, who recently returned from a short term loan with Lancashire, scored 139 off 138 balls as the home side’s second innings closed on 345-5, a lead of 322 with one day to go.

Starting with the 50-over game against the same opposition on Monday, Moores has now taken Durham for scores of 155, 55 and 39 this week.

Ben Kitt earlier finished with 4-37 as Durham’s first innings was wrapped up for 224, before Billy Root (87) and Will Gidman (41) set the platform for Moores’ late assault with a second innings partnership of 95.

Moores’ explosive innings included 13 fours and five sixes. Chris Read was 13 not out at the end of the day.
