Prolonged showers prevented any play at Grace Road as the NatWest T20 Blast match between Leicestershire Foxes and Notts Outlaws was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Both sides take a point from the contest, allowing the Outlaws to move to the top of the North Group but for the fourth time this season – more than any other county side – Dan Christian’s side were left frustrated at not being able to take to the field.

Conditions had allowed the players to begin warming up around 90 minutes before the scheduled start but persistent drizzle then set in, forcing them back to the dressing rooms.

Notts move on to 14 points alongside Northants Steelbacks but they now head the table by virtue of a superior run-rate.

The Outlaws are next in action on Friday evening, when Yorkshire Vikings visit Trent Bridge in the same competition, with victory for the home side guaranteeing a place in the quarter finals.
