The Notts Outlaws round off their NatWest T20 Blast group campaign with the visit the Leicestershire Foxes on Friday night, a side against which they have won six of their last eight completed fixtures since 2012.

The Foxes, however, edge the overall rivalry with 11 wins compared to Notts’ nine.

The sides have locked horns throughout the days of the T20 format, sharing some fascinating encounters and producing remarkable finishes.

When it comes to boundary hitting and run scoring, the Outlaws have the Foxes covered in all areas.

With 3,277 runs to the Foxes’ 3,020 in 20 matches, the Outlaws have managed to clear the rope 81 times and smash 290 fours, compared to the visitors’ 66 and 254.

However, the Foxes hit back in the fielding and wicket taking columns, with 47 players taking the 140 wickets in the contest over the years, at an average of 2.98 per bowler.

In the same period, the Outlaws have only managed 120 wickets, and those have come from a total of 30 players at an average of four wickets per bowler.

By far the Most Valuable Player in the fixture over the years has been Samit Patel, who has been a cornerstone of the Outlaws’ efforts against the Foxes, playing in 20 fixtures over the continuous 13-year battle.

The all-rounder is the Outlaws’ leading run scorer in matches against the Foxes, contributing 364 runs across the years.

Meanwhile, Patel’s spin has also snared 13 wickets over the years, four more than the Foxes’ own left arm slow bowler of 2004 to 2012, Claude Henderson, who leads the Leicestershire wicket-taking table against Notts with nine victims.

With the close nature of the two counties, there have been a number of players who have turned out for both sides across the years.

One example is current Outlaws left armer Harry Gurney, who has 12 wickets in the games between the two sides, seven for the Foxes and five for the Outlaws.

He will likely bowl at the beginning and death of the innings when the rivalry resumes on Friday night at Trent Bridge, with the hosts looking to close up the Foxes' overall advantage.
