Connor Marshall took 3-25 in 12 overs as Nottinghamshire Academy took the majority of the points in a winning draw against Ordsall Bridon CC.

Marshall, who’s all round efforts of 3-35 and 43 runs could not prevent defeat in the Academy’s previous match against Caythorpe, bowled the Academy to a winning draw by restricting the visitors to 125-8.

After winning the toss under overhead conditions that looked to favour bowling, the visitors sent Notts into bat. After a slow start, Aqab Ahmed got the break through in the 13th over by claiming the wicket of Tim Wyatt for 15.

Wyatt's opening partner Chris Gibson went on to score 43.

The stand out bowler for Bridon was Munis Ansari [3-67] who found himself on a hat trick in the 43rd over, as he claimed the back-to-back wickets of Tom Moores [39] and Tom Keast [0]. As wickets fell at regular intervals, an unbeaten 71 off 49 by right-hander Anuj Dal, set Bridon 233 runs to win.

In reply, Ordsall lost three wickets for just 28 runs as Luis Bhabra [2-21] and Patterson-White [2-35] claimed early wickets at the top of the innings.

But it was Marshall’s 3-25 that halted any progress made by the batsman with James Brice top scoring with 41.
