Chris Read is set to return to action as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI face Derbyshire at Worksop College tomorrow.
The 37-year-old, who recently signed a new contract committing him to the Club until the conclusion of the 2017 season, has been sidelined by a hand injury since the Specsavers County Championship fixture at Hampshire five weeks ago.
Will Gidman and Luke Wood, who have each missed recent cricket through injury, are also on the comeback trail in the squad for the 50-over fixture, which gets underway at 11am.
Greg Smith and Sam Wood, both white ball regulars in the first team so far this season, each have an opportunity to find form ahead of Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast encounter against the Durham Jets at Trent Bridge.
