Peter Moores was today among the first group of sport coaches to graduate from UK Sport’s Elite Programme.

Nottinghamshire’s Head Coach was one of nine elite coaches to achieve the qualification alongside: Anna Stembridge (Netball), Christian Felkel (Rowing), David McNulty (Swimming), Eddie Van Hoof (Gymnastics), Mark Delaney (Canoeing), Michel Assouline (Para Equestrian Dressage), Paul Thompson (Rowing) and Rob McCracken (Boxing).

The nine coaches, who work in a variety of Olympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic sports, have taken part in a rigorous three year programme of personal and professional development, both as a group and individually.

Moores and his cohorts have enjoyed exclusive access to expertise, technology and experiences from both within and outside the sports industry as part of the programme.

Graham Taylor, Head of Performance People Development at UK Sport, said: “Congratulations to this fantastic group of coaches, who I know have both supported and challenged each other through this fantastic learning opportunity.

“Coaches are the crucial backbone of our high-performance system, and I know this group will continue to provide world class support and direction for their athletes, as well as now using the wisdom they have gained on the programme to help us take British coaching from world class to world leading.”

Barbados Pre-Season Tour

The destination for Nottinghamshire’s March pre-season tour has once again been confirmed as the historic cricketing island of Barbados.

With the tour coinciding with a One-Day International showdown between England and the West Indies at the Kensington Oval, there’s even more cricketing action for supporters to enjoy whilst soaking up the Caribbean sun.

Notts, under the stewardship of new Head Coach Peter Moores, will face county opposition in both red and white ball cricket during the tour, including the defence of the Barbados T20 Cup.

As well as a pre-season tour package, options will be available to include the Barbados ODI – and to take the short flight to Antigua for the other two fixtures in the three match series.

Smile Group Travel are an established partner of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club’s pre-season tours, with travel, accommodation, airport & match transfers and invitations to additional events included as part of all packages.
