Ben Kitt’s promising start to 2017 continued with three wickets as Leicestershire were bowled out for 328 on the opening day of the Second XI Championship fixture at Lady Bay.

The first-year professional shared the new ball with Jake Ball (1-38), who is preparing for the first team assignment against Durham starting on Friday, and was joined on three dismissals by Matt Milnes.

Harry Dearden (83) and Lewis Hill (87), both of whom featured in the recent Specsavers County Championship fixture between the two sides, provided the mainstay of the innings for the visitors.

Nottinghamshire closed on 28-1 in reply as Tom Keast was bowled by Richard Jones for five.
