Nottinghamshre’s Second XI were victorious by 10 wickets in their three-day game against MCC Young Cricketers at High Wycombe.

Notts took 19 wickets on the second day to reduce the home side to 241-9, just 23 ahead, at the end of Day 2 and MCC made just 14 runs on the third morning finishing their second innings on 255, setting Notts a target of just 40 to win.

Aussie bowler Ryan Sidebottom, not the former Notts player and current Yorkshire seamer, took eight wickets across two innings as Notts skittled the home side out for 158 in their first innings.

No batter scored over 35 as Sidebottom took four wickets for 53 runs whilst Matt Milnes also claimed figures of 3-37, leaving MCC Young Cricketers 218 behind.

Again, Sidebottom was the pick of the Notts bowlers during the second innings as he picked up 4 wickets for 55 runs from 14 overs.

Ben Kitt also chipped in with figures of 2-34 from 12 overs.

Notts knocked off the runs in just 6 and a half overs with opener Zach McCluskie hitting 24 from 19 balls.

The win takes Notts’ Second XI up to second in the Second Eleven Championship North Division.
