There were mixed emotions for Nottinghamshire’s Second XI in their two T20 matches against Warwickshire at Worksop.

In the first game of the day they were defeated by seven wickets thanks to an unbeaten 93 from Warwickshire opener Edward Pollock.

Notts, batting first, made 132 from their 20 overs with Anuj Dal’s score of 56 the highest for the home side, but Warwickshire reached their target in 16.5 overs, with Pollock anchoring the innings.

The hosts were more successful in the second game of the day as they secured a five-wicket victory from the last ball.

Warwickshire set a target of 119 from their 20 overs as Matt Carter and Luke Wood both claimed two wickets each.

An unbeaten half century from opener Greg Smith and a vital 17 from eight balls by Connor Marshall steered the seconds home.

The win gives Notts their first T20 success of the season.
