Nottinghamshire have named a 12-man squad for the pre-season friendly against Glamorgan, starting in Cardiff tomorrow (11am start on Sunday).

The green & golds will travel to the principality without injured al-rounder Steven Mullaney, but Moores is heartened by his side’s strength-in-depth in the seam bowling department.

“We’re sharpening our skills getting ready for Friday (the Specsavers County Championship opener against Leicestershire), so when we get to that game we feel ready," he said ahead of the two-day match at Sophia Gardens.

“It’s about getting into match tempo and getting battle hardened.

“It’s a strong bowling unit which is exciting. It’s a good position as a coach to have a full stock of bowlers to pick from.

“It will be a tough side to pick at Leicester, but we still have to bowl well.”

Nottinghamshire squad to face Glamorgan: Jake Libby, Greg Smith, Michael Lumb, Riki Wessels, Samit Patel, Chris Read, Tom Moores, Brett Hutton, Stuart Broad, Luke Fletcher, Harry Gurney, Ben Kitt.
