Nottinghamshire’s Seconds backed up their efforts with the ball Tom Moores and Tom Keast ensured their side took a healthy first innings lead on day two of their friendly against Loughborough MCCU.

After Brett Hutton had taken 6-46 to skittle the students for 213 on the first day, Joey Evison (49) and Adam Wiffen (40) set the foundations for the two Toms to build on.

The pair came together with the score on 205-5 with Moores completing his century shortly afterwards, off 88 balls and including eight fours and five sixes.

Their partnership had reached 122 before Moores finally fell for a blistering, 108-ball 145, allowing Keast to push on for his three figures.

The 18-year-old added a quickfire 92 with Matt Carter (47) and brought up his century from 124 balls, as Nottinghamshire declared on 456-7, a lead of 243.

With 11 overs left in the day, Ben Kitt snared one late wicket as Loughborough closed on 32-1 on day two.
