2024 ANNUAL REPORT
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB 2024 ANNUAL REPORT & ACCOUNTS 10 of other events contributing to the surplus. Our calendar of international fixtures in 2025 is projected to be less lucrative, but the certainty of supply which we currently benefit from (with a strong package of international cricket secured through until 2031) allows us to budget with that in mind. But cricket is about so much more than numbers on a balance sheet. We are all members of this club because of our love of the sport – and for many of us, myself included, that love was nurtured in the recrea- tional game. The effort and dedication of those involved in club cricket has been notable once again this year – with an increase in the number of vol- unteers being nominated for our county’s Cricket Collective Awards. We’re continuing to see significant growth in the women’s game at grassroots level, while we’ve also seen a number of fresh faces introduced to our sport and venue via initiatives delivered by our Community and Development team, from celebrating the Rainbow Laces campaign to hosting Eid prayers on the outfield. While we welcome those fresh faces with open arms, we also say good- bye to three of our longest-serving committee members this year – although I am certain we will still see them at Trent Bridge on a regular basis. Between them, Paul Ellis, Kate Davies CBE and Peter Hacker have amassed 45 years’ service on our General Committee, and have played a significant role in our successes as a club and a business over the past two decades. Their expertise and insight have been invaluable to me during my time on the committee, and Paul’s contribution as treasurer for eight years cannot be overstated. I wish them all the best as they step away from their positions. Those of us who are continuing to carry the baton have much to do over the next 12 months, but we’re determined to work hard to safe- guard our sport and our venue over the long term. “THE EFFORT AND DEDICATION OF THOSE INVOLVED IN CLUB CRICKET HAS BEEN NOTABLE ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR – WITH AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS BEING NOMINATED FOR OUR COUNTY’S CRICKET COLLECTIVE AWARDS.” Andy Hunt
