2025 Annual-report
33 TREASURER’S REPORT successful events such as the Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival and the Notts Street Food Festival. These events not only generate profit but introduce new, non-cricket audiences toTrent Bridge. It is clear that our fireworks week- end has become a family favourite in the area with two sold-out nights. At the time of writing, the club is extending this diversification strate- gy by welcoming football fans into a Trent Bridge fan zone. This diversification is particularly important given the rise in our cost base, common to many businesses. Increases in the minimum wage continue to impact our matchday workforce costs, with the minimum wage rising by 9.7% in April 2023, 9.8% in 2024, and 6.7% in 2025. Despite these pressures, we met all debt repayments for the financial year 2024-2025 and continue to reduce our debt held in loans with local authorities, which now stands at £4.4 million. Our end-of-year position moved from a pre-tax surplus of £640,000 in 2023-2024 to a deficit of £720,000, reflecting a Men's Test against Zimbabwe, a slightly different year to the one we had expected in the Hundred and a continuing rise in our cost base. A complete overview of the financial results is shown within the full set of accounts on the subsequent pages of this report. As ever, our approach considers financial results as part of a multi- year cycle, in which we aim to max- imise successful seasons to provide resilience during leaner years. A profitable cycle allows us to reinvest in the club and ensure our long- term prosperity. We have certainty regarding our major matches in the coming years, with an extensive allocation of men's and women's internationals scheduled at Trent Bridge between now and 2031, including two Men's Ashes Tests. The Zimbabwe Test in 2025 started a new five-year cycle. Next summer, England Men will face New Zealand in a five-day Rothesay Test Match in June – the first time the two sides have met for a Test in Nottingham since a thrilling contest in 2022. Reigning IT20 world champions India then bring their star-studded side toTrent Bridge for a Vitality IT20 onTuesday 7 July. Furthermore, in 2026, all Notts and The Blaze's home T20 matches will be Trent Bridge double-headers – four on Fridays and two on Sundays.
