James Pattinson

Date of Birth – 3 May 1990, Melbourne, Australia

Nottinghamshire First Class Debut – Joins Nottinghamshire for 2017

A familiar surname to Nottinghamshire’s supporters, with James Pattinson joining the Trent Bridge staff in 2017 to follow in the footsteps of elder brother Darren, who played here between 2008 and 2012.

James joins as a replacement for fellow Australian Peter Siddle, who has been side-lined through injury. The Victorian had also been out of the game for a while before returning with some explosive pace and eye-catching performances in the recent Sheffield Shield season.

Unlike Darren, who was born in Grimsby and played in a Test match for England, James has represented Australia in all three formats of the game and is itching to force his way back into contention for this winter’s Ashes series.

He exploded onto the international scene by taking 5-27 against New Zealand on his Test debut at Brisbane in 2011 and has bagged three more five-wicket hauls in his 17 Tests to date.

James’ only previous experience of playing at Trent Bridge was in the First Test of the 2013 Ashes series when he picked up five England wickets.
