Nottinghamshire First-Class Debut – 23 April 2008 v Oxford MCCU (The Parks)

Luke Fletcher has been a stalwart of the Club for nearly a decade and heading into his tenth season, with over 230 first-class wickets to his name, Fletcher remains one of the most popular performers in the Nottinghamshire squad.

His no-nonsense, run in all-day, approach is usually heralded by a roar of approval from his noisy fan-base, appreciative of his efforts.

In just his fourth first-class match the strapping youngster gave every indication that he may develop into a genuine all-rounder by scoring 92 away against Hampshire.

He equalled that score against Durham in early April but overall has only passed 50 on another two occasions.

Nevertheless, his ability with the ball has also benefitted the county in white ball cricket where he has made more than 100 appearances and taken in excess of 100 wickets.

The 2017 season was going from strength to strength for the Bulwell Bomber, topping the bowling charts in the County Championship with 36 wickets and part of the side that lifted the Royal London One-Day Cup.

However, his season was cut short after a sickening blow to the head in a NatWest T20 Blast encounter against the Birmingham Bears.

Fletcher spent the night in hospital and was released the next day but was ruled out for the remainder of the season following the blow.
