Ant Botha is a member of Peter Moores' First XI coaching team, aiding Notts' batters and spin bowlers with their development.

The former all-rounder, who made 137 first class appearances during his playing career, moved to Trent Bridge towards the end of 2016 to join Peter Moores’ coaching team.

Born in South Africa, Botha turned to coaching after an elbow injury forced him into early retirement in 2011.

Apart from appearances in his homeland, he spent long periods in the county game with stints at both Derbyshire and Warwickshire.

As a right-handed batsman, he scored 4,403 runs in the longer format, at an average of 23.9, with the highest of his four centuries being a score of 156 not out, made for Derbyshire against Yorkshire in 2005.

His slow left-arm bowling captured 307 first class wickets, with a best of eight for 53, for Natal B against Northern B at Centurion in February 1998.

Botha also played in 149 List A and 72 T20 contests before beginning his coaching career in Adelaide, South Australia.

He returned to the county game as part of the backroom set-up at Derbyshire, before making the short switch to Trent Bridge.

During a spell as coach of Notts' Second XI, the side progressed to T20 Finals Day in 2019, with players including Liam Patterson-White, Joey Evison, Sol Budinger and Ben Compton making the transition into the first team setup.

In 2021, Botha added to his list of coaching honours by being named as a member of coaching staff on England's tour of Australia for the 2021/22 Ashes series.
