Nottinghamshire First Class Debut – 16 September 2019 vs Warwickshire (Trent Bridge)
Joey Evison showed immediate promise on his First-Class debut for Nottinghamshire in September 2019, as he became the first player born in the 2000s to represent Nottinghamshire, and hit an assured 45 in his first innings in professional cricket.
The all-rounder followed in Matt Carter’s footsteps by making the transition from Lincolnshire cricket to a professional deal at Trent Bridge, and has been on Nottinghamshire’s radar for several years.
The right-hander chalked up a ton for Nottinghamshire’s Academy at the age of 15 in a Premier League fixture against Attenborough, and has progressed into the England Under 19 setup in the intervening years.
Evison was part of the national side which triumphed in the Plate Final in the 2019 U19 World Cup, and went on to impress in Notts' first fixture of 2020 against Derbyshire before injury curtailed his campaign.
In 2021, he took his maiden First-Class five-wicket haul against Durham, and scored his maiden First-Class fifty against Yorkshire, in a year of continued development.
