One of the premier fast bowlers in world cricket, Stuart Broad continues to rack up mind-boggling statistics as he enters the latest phase of his success-laden career.

Were it not for James Anderson, with whom he has represented England as a new ball partnership for over 15 years, then Broad’s 570+ Test wickets as a seamer would be unparalleled on the international stage.

He is also only the third Englishman to have appeared in more than 150 Test matches.

Amongst the scores of outstanding highlights across those matches are his devastating spell of 8-15 in the Ashes Test against Australia on his home ground of Trent Bridge in 2015, plus two Test hat-tricks, the only Englishman to achieve that feat.

Additionally, he has made a Test match century for England, scoring 169 against Pakistan at Lord’s in 2010.

Now focussing solely on the red-ball game, he has previously captained his country in both the one-day and T20 formats and was a member of the England side which won the ICC World Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean in 2010.

Son of former Notts opening batsman Chris, Broad junior developed his game whilst at Oakham School, before making an introduction into the professional game in 2005 with Leicestershire.

Three years later he made the switch to the county of his birth and began an association with Nottinghamshire that remains steadfastly tight, despite limitations on his availability due to international commitments.

Nevertheless, his appearances for the Robin Hood county have coincided with some of Nottinghamshire’s finest moments in recent years.

He claimed 19 wickets across two appearances as Notts won the County Championship in 2010, including a pivotal, match-winning burst of 8-52 against Warwickshire.

In 2022, Broad took 16 wickets in four games at an average of 20.81 as Nottinghamshire returned to Division One of the County Championship.

Broad was also on hand to lend his considerable experience and talent to the Outlaws side that won the one-day cup competitions in 2013 and 2017.
