15 VITAMIN D Vitamin D is vital in developing bone health and density. Males reach bony maturity at approximately 22, with their adolescent years being when they are most at risk of bone stress injuries.Vitamin D has been shown to assist in developing bone density, which aids the prevention of bone stress injuries. The NHS recommends that everyone in the UK takes a Vit D supplement from October until March. We recommend our athletes to take a supplement for the entire year, especially for any bowlers, to mitigate the risks of bone injury. These supplements can easily be found at a local pharmacy. For pro players at Notts, they take 4000IUVit D supps.These doses will likely be suitable for pathway players, however please consult your GP for further advice.
