Recreational cricket inherently has its share of logistical and financial challenges, which is why investment and expertise are so crucial. Over the last 12 months, £75,000 has been invested in recreational club facilities through ECB County Grants, which has opened the door to a further £92,000 of investment. 14 club pitch power assessments on grounds have been completed by our County Pitch Advisors – a work- force which we have also increased applied for Sport England funding to support winter renovation and We also employed a grounds apprentice in partnership with Rushcliffe Borough Council, providing this individual with invaluable training in a practical environment while also allowing them to offer additional support to grounds across the recreational game. The depth of the dedication to the recreational game is reflected in the fact that Nottinghamshire clubs made 75 nominations for the ECB Cricket Collective Awards, more than the total number of nationwide nominations for the awards in 2023.
