CASE STUDY 100 Student A’s Experience: 1,668 Student A was initially referred into Positive Futures due to ongoing struggles and behavioural problems such as fighting and general disruptive conduct. As part of this initial referral, Student A became a regular attendee at our community garden project, assisting in gardening and maintenance tasks around the grounds. At the start of the year, Student A was referred into our behaviour workshop in an effort to address their poor behaviour in school. Prior to the referral, Student A already faced exclusion from school due to repeated incidents and poor conduct. Due to their behaviour outside of school, Student A was also involved with the Youth Justice Service. Due to their complex behavioural issues, Positive Futures staff have continued to work with Student A through the behavioural workshops delivered within their school setting. Staff have identified the next steps for Student A, which include: Referred into 1-2-1 interventions to work more directly with Positive Futures staff to challenge their behaviour. Collaborate with school and other external agencies linked with Student A to create an intervention plan clear to all stakeholders. Support carers at home to help provide assistance to manage Student A’s behaviour. This strategy aims to provide stability, regular contact time with professionals and a positive role model to help Student A to own their poor behaviour and choices, recognise consequences and help guide towards making better choices when presented with an opportunity to engage in disruptive activity. 310 Session hours delivered 824 Session attendances 160 Sessions delivered 15 Young people attended sessions Contact hours
